Exactly, if they start selling the BMP all these weapons will be as common as long swords -_-. Which would destroy the fact that they are very nice skins.

Im gonna have to agree.
It was obvious from the beginning when the BMP limited offer was exactly during when GWEN would be released.
I made the decision to buy online and not have the box.

Actually Flubber many people outside the US don't use credit cards nor do the countries they live in have pre paid CC's. So in this instance Anet fails for not making other payment options available in the online store.

What a shitty attitude, and rather selfish. You people call your selves fans, Pssah! I call you whiney little children.
"Oh, look at me, look what I can do, and what I can buy!"
It's like buying a Porsche, then parading it through the "BAD LUCK" communities in your town. What a load of BS.
I'm all for selling the BMP in a brick and mortar business. Even if it's only 5 or 10 dollars. I'd still buy it. And i'd enjoy it. Like I do with all of Guild Wars right now.
Rawr, i'm so angry now, and I just woke up!

Firstly. The BMP is a FREE bonus. I do not want Anet to resell it.
Secondly: The BMP was a LIMITED time offer. Just like how the Collectors Editions of GW were limited. Just like how Pre-order sets were limited.
Thirdly: They have given plenty of WARNING ahead of time that once its over, its OVER.
|
This is my exact thought.
I am sorry to those very few, limited people that actually had a legitamate reason for not being able to get the BMP. However, 99.9% of the whinning is people that did act and now want.
To bad, sorry bye bye then.

Whats funny is the people saying how it was a 'promotion' and if you didn't buy it, tough luck.
Yet all they promoted were the missions themselves which looked boring and uninteresting. They never promoted that there would be all new max weapons available as rewards for people to use. The latter is actually something interesting, as it serves a use. I would have paid for that. The former I couldn't care less about.

You should have emailed Anet when this happened and try and get them to sort it out. Raging after the release of it will not achieve anything.

Except if they sold it in a retail store, they wouldnt make as much money than it costs to package, ship and sell the item, rather than make it an exclusive offer and get you to buy more stuff and make more money off of that.

Free to certain people = Not good marketing for a company.
You dont understand how everyone is different, were not one big race of people that likes exactly the same thing, one guy will walk to work and the other will drive. I guess it comes down to limits on personal choice, the bonus pack should have been free to everyone who purchased GW:EN, whatever way they choose to do it. I like having the disks if I format my computer, I've had to wait up to 3 hours in the past downloading the game files so having the disks is much quicker, if I lived in a small sucky appartment that had little room I'd prefer the keys but I dont, I have enough room to put them on a shelf so I'll do that. There shouldnt be a reason for me not to do it that way.

oh? how so? care to explain how selling the bmp separately would negatively influence your gametime?
you cant.
all the nay sayers are saying is: "NO. Its YOUR FAULT. (haha i have it)"
edit:
the title says it all: BONUS Mission Pack.
Bonus to what? To stuff bought in the online store. In that it was for a limited time only.
Now that the promotion is over they can just sell it as....Mission Pack.
And i bet that it wont be the last one either.

So, wait, back up. Read my post again. I DID email Anet with this issue. They said "sorry, it's not our issue. Call your bank."
And to the chap who said they wouldn't make any money in a brick and mortar store. Okay, so offer different payment options in the online store. Paypal is free, so is google checkout. Why cant they use those? Any joe schmoe can set up accounts with either, and have "premier" status. (Have it tie in with your bank account.) They actually PAID ME to set it up like that. Having paypal or google checkout set up in the anet store would please A LOT of people.

He who hesistates is lost
If you had the chance to buy it, but decided against it. Well too bad.
The only ones who have any legitimate complaints are the ones who have had technical difficulties (bank/credit card issues).
And petitioning to sell it seperately wouldnt benefit them anyway since if Anet does that, it will STILL BE IN THE ONLINE STORE.

I don't think there were many, if any that didn't think there'd be some kind of loot in the bonus pack. I'm sure the majority got it for that reason.
That said, I understand both sides of the argument. On the one hand it was a promotion, and it ran for quite a while. There seemed to be a lot of time to get things in order. For instance, if your bank would let you use your card in the store, you could always get a prepaid check card or something. Those work don't they.
On the other hand though, I understand there are a lot of kids who play whose parents probably wouldn't let them use their cards. To that I say, well, nothing really I can say but that's how it goes sometimes. I don't think anyone here is in some third world country that has access to a computer, internet and guild wars and can't get a credit/debit card though.
If they were to sell this separately I'd have mixed feelings but ultimately it wouldn't bother me too much. I mean, if they sold this limited promotion, I'd feel like they should do it for other limited stuff too, like collector's editions. I could make up a lot of excuses as to why I didn't buy them at the time and just petition Anet to sell the divine auras and spirit dancers in the online store. How many people would that piss off? I didn't participate in the first roller beetle competition, sell me a rare mini beetle in the online store. I think that's the direction it would start to go if Anet put this in the online store, and it would piss off a lot of people who were glad to have been "rewarded" by participating in these things at their inception.

This was an online promotion. Where is our offline promotion?
You can only pay by credit card. Why, when there are so many other online payment options and some countries don't even HAVE credit cards, is this the only payment method?
If the BMP isn't made available by other means I'll be done with this game. I understand the concept of "Bonus", but what pisses me off is the quality of skins available are far superior to anything that I've paid for 4 times over for myself & family (that's 4 copies of every GW release to date).
It's a slap in the face that this content is given to a select few and denied to everyone else. Hell, there are entire Countries that can't get it, so it's not like we're talking about a handful of people being left out.

Personally, I bought from this company:
8 boxed games (2 accounts with all campaigns + eotn)
2 extra slots for each account (online shop)
1 eotn preview for each account (online shop)
3 skill unlock for each account (online shop)
So besides the boxed, I spend more than 36€ from the online shop for each account. But not in the promotion period, so I'm not entitled.
I don't want anything for free.
When I consider something worth to be bought, I take my credit card, PAY real money and BUY.
Since I'm used to PAY to get things, I'm also used to avoid wasting money.
During the promotion, there was NOTHING worth to be bought in the online shop.
Buying 3 extra slot I didn't need would have been WASTED money.
Those who wasted money buying something they didn't need are idiots, stop.
If they sell this mission pack, I can consider the possibility to SPEND my MONEY to buy it. If they do it too late, I might lose any interest and they will lose my money.

D: Now what? Keep going back and forth on this issue?
It was posted before the promotion ended, Gaile asked the community if it would be wise to set up a paypal button in the anet store. Yet, there were nay sayers, and it didn't happen. Most of the nay sayers had bad experiences with poeple ripping them off. I have filed 2 fruad tickets with paypal in the past 2 or 3 years. Each time it was resolved, my money back, and the person who tried to steal my money was kicked from ebay/paypal.
